Stern McCafferty is a design-driven architecture and interiors practice.  Principals David Stern and Diane McCafferty engage in a collaborative design process, working closely with their team of designers and with their clients to create projects that are authentic, evocative, and responsive. Their collaborative approach extends to the process of building as well; they are committed to the belief that the best work is achieved through a direct engagement in the art of construction.

Members of the US Green Building Council, Stern McCafferty takes a pragmatic approach to sustainability -- they focus on the use of resources where they have the greatest impact, and seek to provide clients with buildings that are timeless, enduring, and healthful.

Founded in 2000, Stern McCafferty has designed houses, residential and office interiors, artists’ studios, commercial spaces, furniture and lighting.  Diane and David’s work has been widely published in magazines such as Dwell, Metropolitan Home, Interiors and Architectural Record. Their work has received awards and recognition from numerous associations, including The Boston Society of Architects and The International Interior Design Association.
